Adidas Tubular Defiant

No Yeezys? No problem!
(Or at least that's what I keep telling myself)

Like most people on this planet, I was not able to get my hand on a pair of Yeezy Boosts 750's or 350's. To be honest, even though the 350's are more mainstream and sleeker, I was fiending after the 750's more because of their cool sneaker, but not really, kinda like boots but not really look.

My sneaker collection up to this point literally consisted of white, white, white, black, black (pictured below). I needed some grey and more 'sneaker' looking kicks to my collection! With the Jenner Sisters, the Hadid Sisters, Miranda Kerr, and the rest of the celebrity world dressing sneakers up and also making "athleisure" look mainstream, I HAD to have a pair of sneakers that weren't in the Adidas/Converse/Vans category!!!

(My Vans and Adidas Superstars in White/Pink [top right] are so worn out. The pink Superstars are actually from almost 10 years ago and they are still in wearable condition!!)

After much research into which ones I wanted (and especially looking for ones that would satisfy my craving and sadness about not having Yeezys) I was debating between Nike Free 5.0 Flyknits and the Adidas Tubular Defiant W, The Flyknits in wolf grey definitely look a lot like the Yeezy Boost 350s, but upon trying them on, I didn't really like how they made my feet look. Also, the $130 price tag for a pair of knit running shoes didn't appeal to me as much. Thus, trying to get the second best thing to Yeezy Boost 750s, I went to the company backing Kanye's collection, Adidas, for second options. I would have LOVED to get my hands on a pair of Adidas Primeknits, but the majority that were in my budget were sold out.

Some LUCKY way or another, I stumbled upon the Tubular Defiant's. Adidas's website only had the red and white available at the time, and I definitely didn't need another pair of white sneakers. The reds were such statement pieces, and I wanted something that was more minimal and everyday. Google came to my aid, and after looking up celebrities wearing Tubulars, I ran into a picture of Gigi Hadid wearing the 3-tone colorblocked Tubular Defiants!!! And let's just say, they were a match made in heaven to the point where I didn't even want to try them on before I got them!!

A lot of my outfits I've worn with my Tubulars have been on the casual side -- leggings with oversized tops and a jacket to match.

(Sorry for the poor picture quality!!)

To celebrate the boyfriend landing a new job, we went to go eat after I came home from work. I quickly changed into a Banana Republic sweater (from his closet), my favorite bodyshaping leggings, and my new babies, matched with my Alexander Wang Rocco. This outfit was largely inspired by Gigi Hadid.

Let's just say I've gotten a lot of compliments on my new kicks so far. A few of my friends were hesitant on buying them for themselves before, but after seeing them on me, they've changed their minds!

There are currently even cuter options online -- ones in all grey, olive/pink, all white, and red ones! With a mostly affordable price tag of $110, they are a worthwhile investment, and I promise you'll wear your $110 worth within a few weeks :)
